I’ve never been to a chiropractor before. What should I expect on my first visit?
Prior to your first visit, you will be asked to complete an intake form online. If you don't have access to an email address to fill out the form in advance, no worries! We ask you present 15 minutes early to the office to fill out the intake form. The intake form helps Dr. Erica navigate your current concerns, as well as past health history. Once the form is completed, you'll have a thorough consultation with Dr. Erica; this gives you the opportunity to share your health goals, challenges, and stressors. The consultation is followed up with an exam to assess your range of motion, orthopedics, and nervous system. Finally, you will receive a gentle adjustment. The entire process takes roughly 45 minutes. Easy!
Note: Because Prairie Wellness Collective does not have imaging in-office, all requests are referred out. Dr. Erica often refers to Advanced Medical Imaging in Lincoln, but can also refer to Beatrice Community Hospital or work with your primary care provider for your imaging needs.
Will I be expected to sign-up for a treatment plan?
Care recommendations are tailored to your individual needs and varies from person to person. It's often in a patient's best interest to visit his/her chiropractor regularly, and Dr. Erica will give her recommendations accordingly. Consistency is key in the healing process and healing can take time. However, PWC respects that not everyone can commit to a full treatment plan. As a result, there are no monthly financial obligations, and we will never spend a dollar of your money without your consent. In short, there's always a way! Dr. Erica will work with you to find the best solution that respects your time and money while working towards your goal of better health.
Is chiropractic care covered by my insurance?
Most insurance companies provide some chiropractic coverage, however it varies from plan to plan. PWC is in-network with most major insurance companies including BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Midlands Choice. Our office accepts Medicare and Medicaid as well. Dr. Erica will verify your insurance prior to your second visit, so you will know your level of coverage and estimated cost of care before moving forward with treatment. If you don't see your insurance carrier on this list, email Dr. Erica.
I don’t have insurance. Do you offer payment plans?
If you don't have insurance, the cost is $60 for a single visit. If you'd like to set up a payment plan, Dr. Erica will ask you pick a date for automatic withdrawal until your balance is paid in full. A card will be kept on file at that time.
Is chiropractic care painful?
Chiropractic care should not be painful. You may be slightly sore after an adjustment; think of it as being sore after a workout. If any part of your adjustment is painful, tell Dr. Erica immediately. There are multiple techniques Dr. Erica can use during treatment. Honest communication is key to finding the best methods for you that minimize pain and maximize results.
How long does a typical adjustment take?
Even the busiest individual can take a few minutes for his or her health. Your initial consultation, exam, and adjustment will take between 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments take 15 minutes or less; it just depends on the patient. Dr. Erica does her best to accommodate your schedule and be respectful of your time.
I’m pregnant. Can I receive chiropractic care?
A million times, yes! Dr. Erica’s table is specially designed to accomodate expectant mothers at any stage of pregnancy.
I've been adjusted for a while and use chiropractic for wellness, preventative care. What payment options do you have for wellness patients?
There's many individuals and families that are part of the Anchor Chiropractic community that regularly integrate chiropractic care as part of their lifestyle. There is an individual plan and family wellness plan for people who love their weekly adjustments. If you're interested in this, please email or call Dr. Erica.
